SBI plans to hire 2,000 probationary officers this fiscal while 500-1,000 people will be taken on as contractual staff. It will also recruit 5,000 assistants. “With digital banking being the focus, candidates should have sparks for Internet banking,” said SBI’s Mehra.

The proposals are in line with the government’s initiative to induct private talent in state-run banks, which have accumulated huge bad loans due to poor credit analysis and a slowdown in the economy. The government has already split the position of chairman and chief executive, and is in the process of hiring private talent to head Punjab National Bank and other lenders.

“There is a wide gap between public and private sector middle-level bankers, both in terms of remunerations and promotions,” said Babu Sivaprakasam, partner (banking), Economic Laws Practice, a consultancy firm.

“If SBI is doing it, others too should follow suit as future lies on such progressive approach,” said Sivaprakasam, who has worked for large public, private and foreign banks.

Examine Fees SBI Bharti 2016-2017

  1. Application fees and Intimation Charges (Non-refundable) Rs.600/-for General and OBC candidates;
  2. Rs.100/-(intimation charges only) for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
    Fee payment will have to be made online through payment gateway available there at.
  3. After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the application form candidates are required to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the application. No change/edit will be allowed thereafter.
  4. The payment can be made by using debit card / credit card / Internet Banking etc. by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
  5. On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with the date entered by the candidate will be generated, which should be printed and retained by the candidate.

How to apply RBI Research Position 2016

  1. Candidates who are applying for the Research post they must submit their application by e-mail or by post to “The General Manager, Reserve Bank of India Services Board, Third Floor, RBI Building, Opp. Mumbai Central Railway Station, Byculla, Mumbai – 400008” in the prescribed format (as are given below in this page).
  2. A recent photograph is to be pasted at the appropriate place and application should be signed by the candidate. Incomplete and illegible applications will be rejected.
  3. The subject mentioned in the e-mail / cover containing the application should be super scribes with the name of the post applied for i.e. ‘Application for Research Positions in RBI‘.
  4. Following Documents should be submitted along with the application:
    (a)   Proof of age (copy of High school leaving/ passing certificate mentioning the Date of Birth, passport, etc.)
    (b)   Copy of Certificate of acquiring Ph. D. in Economics or Finance (if completed) or documentary evidence to establish registration for the course.
