- The maximum age required for appointment is 45 years. However, if a suitable candidate is not found, it may be relaxed by 5 years.
Applications, conditions/rules for appointment are issued from the office of the Port Captain. It can be obtained during - office hours from February 26, 2024 to February 29, 2024.
- By the candidate. As of March 1, 2024. 12:00 p.m. Formerly submit your application personally at the Marine Engineer and Ship Surveyor’s Office, Bandar Captain Department, Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, Panaji – Goa 403001, along with certified copies of your certificates, 2 passport size photographs and 01 set of self-attested copies of your educational qualification certificates, capacity certificates, passports, CDC for verification.
- By the candidate. March 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During this time, it is mandatory to bring original certificates while coming to the port captain’s office, Panaji- Goa for an interview. The selected candidates will be notified thereafter.

(a) Marine or Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or Naval Architect or equivalent certificate approved by the Government of India with at least first or second class motor/steam transport (MOT) certificate issued by the Director General of Shipping, Government of India and on regular vessels going to sea or classification societies or shipbuilding yards or reputed international shipping companies or State Port Department or State Maritime Board or Shipping Board of Shipping Candidates should have 5 years of experience after obtaining the first capability certificate from directorate general or mercantile marine department. (b) Master Mariner (overseas) with 2 years sailing experience or Master’s Certificate issued by the Director General of Shipping, Government of India, Maritime Training or Marine Survey experience or equivalent international certificate |
