- What is the work profile of an IPS officer? – An IPS officer has an important responsibility to maintain law and order. They have to ensure that no crime, robbery, theft incidents take place in their jurisdiction. They also have to take care of the public. The work schedule of IPS officers is very strict and strict. They may have to work even in difficult circumstances.
- Physical qualification for IPS – Height for IPS – To become IPS, the height of open category men should be 165 cm and that of ST category men should be 160 cm. The height limit for women in open category is 150 cm and for women in ST category, the height limit is 145 cm. - आयपीएस अधिकाऱ्याचं वर्क प्रोफाइल कसं असतं? – आयपीएस अधिकाऱ्यावर कायदा आणि सुव्यवस्था राखण्याची महत्त्वाची जबाबदारी असते. त्यांना आपल्या कार्यक्षेत्रात कोणत्याही प्रकारचे गुन्हे, दरोडे, चोरीसारख्या घटना घडू नयेत याची काळजी घ्यावी लागते. त्यांना जनतेची देखील काळजी घ्यावी लागते. आयपीएस अधिकाऱ्यांच्या कामाचं वेळापत्रक अतिशय काटेकोर आणि कडक असतं. त्यांना कठीण परिस्थितीतही काम करावं लागू शकतं.
- आयपीएससाठी निर्धारित शारीरिक पात्रता – आयपीएससाठी उंची – आयपीएस होण्यासाठी खुल्या प्रवर्गातील पुरुषांची उंची 165 सेमी तर एसटी प्रवर्गातल्या पुरुषांची उंची 160 सेमी असावी. तसंच खुल्या प्रवर्गातील महिलांची उंची 150 सेमी तर एसटी प्रवर्गातल्या महिलांसाठी उंचीची मर्यादा 145 सेमी आहे. आयपीएस होण्यासाठी छाती किमान 84 सेमी तर फुगवून पाच सेमी अधिक असावी. ही पात्रता महिलांसाठी किमान 79 सेमी तर फुगवून पाच सेमी अधिक असावी. दृष्टी 6/6 किंवा 6/9 (दूरची नजर) असावी. महिलांची दृष्टी 6/12 आणि 6/9 असावी. तसंच जवळची नजर j1 असावी.
- पोलीस अधिकाऱ्याचं वजन किती असावं? – भारतीय पोलीस सेवेत अधिकारी होण्यासाठी वजनाबाबत कोणतेही नियम नाहीत. मात्र, वजन नियंत्रणात असणं आवश्यक आहे. आयपीएस प्रशिक्षणादरम्यान त्यांना अनेक प्रकारच्या शारीरिक चाचण्या द्याव्या लागतात. या चाचण्यांसाठी उमेदवार तंदुरुस्त असणं गरजेचं आहे.
- या वैद्यकीय चाचण्यांनंतर मिळते सरकारी नोकरी – देशातल्या सर्वोच्च सरकारी नोकऱ्यांपैकी एक असलेल्या आयपीएस म्हणजेच भारतीय पोलीस सेवेत सामील होण्यासाठी उमेदवारांना अनेक प्रकारच्या शारीरिक चाचण्या द्याव्या लागतात. यासाठी अपात्र असल्यास सरकारी नोकरी मिळणं अशक्य आहे.
- ब्लड प्रेशर – उमेदवाराच्या वयानुसार त्याचे ब्लड प्रेशर सामान्य असावं.
- स्पीच- उमेदवाराला बोलण्याशी संबंधित कोणतीही अडचण नसावी.
- श्रवण अर्थात ऐकण्याची क्षमता – उमेदवाराला ऐकण्याची कोणतीही समस्या नसावी. कानाची कॅव्हिटी देखील सामान्य असावी.
- दृष्टी – उमेदवाराची दृष्टी स्टिरिओस्कोपिक असावी आणि त्याला रातांधळेपणासारखी कोणतीही समस्या नसावी.
- गर्भधारणा अर्थात प्रेग्नन्सी – महिला पोलीस अधिकारी मेडिकल टेस्टवेळी गर्भवती नसाव्यात.

Civil Service Recruitment 2023: सरकारी नोकरीची तयारी करणाऱ्या उमेदवारांची संख्या सातत्याने वाढत आहे. विशेषतः करोनाच्या काळात नागरी सेवा परीक्षेकडे तरुणांचा कल वाढला आहे. असे असूनही, देशातील नोकरशाहीतील सर्वोच्च सेवा आयएएस-आयपीएसची २३०० हून अधिक पदे रिक्त आहेत. केंद्रीय कार्मिक राज्यमंत्री जितेंद्र सिंह यांनी ही माहिती दिली आहे.
रिक्त पदे लवकरात लवकर भरण्याचा प्रयत्न
१ जानेवारी २०२२ पर्यंत विविध राज्यांमध्ये आयएएसच्या १,४७२ आणि आयपीएसच्या ८६४ जागा रिक्त आहेत. रिक्त पदे भरणे ही एक निरंतर प्रक्रिया आहे. सर्व संवर्गातील रिक्त पदे लवकरात लवकर भरण्याचा केंद्र सरकारचा प्रयत्न असल्याचे ते म्हणाले.
केंद्रीय लोकसेवा आयोग (UPSC) दरवर्षी थेट भरतीच्या आधारावर आयएएस आणि आयपीएस श्रेणीतील रिक्त जागा भरण्यासाठी नागरी सेवा परीक्षा आयोजित करते. याव्यतिरिक्त पदोन्नती कोट्यातील रिक्त जागा भरण्यासाठी यूपीएससीद्वारे राज्य सरकारांसह निवड समितीच्या बैठका आयोजित केल्या जातात.
जास्त संख्या म्हणजे प्रशिक्षणाच्या गुणवत्तेशी तडजोड
लाल बहादूर शास्त्री राष्ट्रीय प्रशासन अकादमी (LBSNAA), मसुरी ही नागरी सेवा भरतीसाठी देशातील प्रमुख प्रशिक्षण संस्था आहे असे सिंह म्हणले. बासवान समितीने यासंदर्भात शिफारस केली होती की, १८० पेक्षा जास्त संख्या LBSNAA च्या बॅच क्षमतेपेक्षा जास्त असेल आणि अधिकाऱ्यांच्या प्रशिक्षणाच्या गुणवत्तेशी तडजोड करेल. दरम्यान, नागरी सेवा परीक्षा २०२० पासून, IPS अधिकार्‍यांच्या प्रशिक्षण बॅचमधील उमेदवारांची संख्या २०० झाली आहे.

IAS Officer Recruitment Process
Upon confirmation of service, an IAS officer serves a probationary period as a sub-divisional magistrate. Completion of this probation is followed by an executive administrative role in a district as a district magistrate and collector which lasts several years, as long as sixteen years in some states. After this tenure, an officer may be promoted to head a whole state division, as a divisional commissioner. In these roles, IAS officers represent the country at the international level in bilateral and multilateral negotiations.
IAS officers are also involved in the conduct of elections in India as mandated by the Election Commission of India. There are three modes of recruitment into the Indian Administrative Service. IAS officers may enter the IAS by passing the Civil Services Examination, which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Officers recruited this way are called direct recruits.
Some IAS officers are also recruited from the state civil services, and, in rare cases, selected from non-state civil service.
