• नुकत्याच सादर केलेल्या अंतरिम अर्थसंकल्पात अर्थमंत्री निर्मला सीतारामन यांनी प्रलंबित करदावे निकाली काढण्याची घोषणा केली. २००९-२०१० पर्यंतच्या काळातील २५ हजार रुपयांची बाकी आणि २०१०-११ ते २०१४-१५ या काळातील १० हजारांच्या बाकीसंबंधी सर्व नोटिसा मागे घेतल्या जाणार आहेत. यात १९६२ पासून प्रलंबित असलेली १.११ कोटी प्रकरणे आहेत. या प्रकरणांतील एकूण रक्कम ३,५०० ते ३,६०० कोटींच्या घरात आहे. सरकारच्या या निर्णयामुळे ८० लाखांहून अधिक करदात्यांना लाभ होणार आहे. याबाबत गुप्ता यांनी सांगितले की, २५ हजारांपर्यंतची थकबाकी मागे घेण्याची घोषणा केल्याने करदात्यांना एक लाखापर्यंत दिलासा मिळू शकतो.
• नितीन गुप्ता यांच्या म्हणण्यानुसार निवडणुकीदरम्यान रोकड जप्तीचे प्रमाण वाढले आहे. गेल्या वर्षी झालेल्या मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, तेलंगणा, छत्तीसगड आणि मिझोराम या राज्यांच्या निवडणुकांमध्ये १,७६० कोटी रुपयांचे साहित्य जप्त करण्यात आले होते, जे मागील निवडणुकीपेक्षा ७ पट जास्त होते. २०१७ च्या तुलनेत २०२२ मध्ये निवडणुकीदरम्यान जप्तीचे प्रमाण ६ पटीने वाढल्याचे आयकर विभागाने म्हटले आहे.
