Maharashtra Judge 183 Posts Vacant
Exciting information has been received that 5436 posts of judges are vacant in District and Sessions Courts across Maharashtra. The highest number of vacant posts of judges are in BJP-ruled states and 183 posts are vacant in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Jude Vacant Positions
It is delaying justice. According to a high-level source in the Ministry of Law and Justice, the positions of about five and a half thousand judges are vacant in District and Sessions Courts across the country. There are 22545 judicial positions approved all over the country. Out of these 17109 judges are working while 5436 judges are vacant.
Even in advanced states like Maharashtra, the number of working judges is lower than the sanctioned posts. 2097 posts of judges are approved in Maharashtra. Of these 1914 judges are employed. So far, judges have not been appointed in 183 seats. The number of pending cases is increasing day by day. Importantly, the number of vacancies in the BJP-ruled states is high. It is at the forefront of Uttar Pradesh of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat are followed by UP.
Judge Vacancy in Maharashtra
Supreme Court Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi’s bench is exchanging views on the judges’ vacancies. Do you have to set up a National High Judicial Commission to fill judges’ seats in district and session courts? The bench is also considering this. However, some high courts have opposed it. At present, judges are appointed by the State Government on the recommendation of the High Court.
