Latest new about Teacher Vacancies in Goa University is given here. In Goa University has 148 vacancies for teaching posts and another 94 vacancies for non-teaching posts. According to the answer tabled in the assembly, the maximum number of 74 posts for assistant professor, 45 posts for associate professor, 25 posts for professors and four posts for senior professors are yet to be filled. In view of staff shortage, Goa University has extended the service of 18 employees who reached the age of superannuation from 2014 to 2022.

Goa University has been struggling to fill the posts of professors for the last several years and vacancies are being filled on contractual basis. Vacancies in teaching posts have increased from 35% in 2015 to nearly 50% in 2019. Two waves of the Covid-19 pandemic also halted the recruitment process. However, the university managed to fill the vacancies once the Covid-19 wave subsided. But as the courses are expanding, the vacancies of professors have increased again. During the previous recruitment process, several groups protested Goa University’s attempt to waive the residency requirement for some faculty posts. However, the state government has given concessions on domicile.

गोवा विद्यापीठात अध्यापक पदांची 148 रिक्त पदे रिक्त आहेत, तसेच शिक्षकेतर पदांमधील आणखी 94 रिक्त जागा सुद्धा रिक्त आहेत. विधानसभेत मांडलेल्या उत्तरानुसार सहायक प्राध्यापक पदासाठी सर्वाधिक 74, सहयोगी प्राध्यापकाची 45 पदे, प्राध्यापकांची 25 पदे आणि वरिष्ठ प्राध्यापकांची चार पदे भरणे बाकी आहे. कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या कमतरतेच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर, गोवा विद्यापीठाने 2014 ते 2022 या कालावधीत सेवानिवृत्तीचे वय गाठलेल्या 18 कर्मचाऱ्यांना सेवा मुदतवाढ दिली आहे.

1. शैक्षणिक आणि शिक्षकेतर पदांची कमतरता लक्षात घेता, विद्यापीठात सध्याच्या रिक्त पदांवर कर्मचारी नियुक्त करण्याची प्रक्रिया सुरू असल्याने, अध्यापन आणि प्रशासनावर परिणाम होऊ नये म्हणून, मुदतवाढ देण्यात आली आहे.
2. गोवा विद्यापीठात गेल्या अनेक वर्षांपासून प्राध्यापकांची पदे भरण्यासाठी धडपड सुरू असून कंत्राटी पद्धतीने रिक्त जागा भरण्यात येत आहे. अध्यापन पदांवरील रिक्त पदे 2015 मध्ये 35% वरून 2019 मध्ये जवळपास 50% पर्यंत वाढली आहेत. कोविड-19 महामारीच्या दोन लहरींमुळे भरती प्रक्रिया देखील थांबली.
3. तथापि, एकदा कोविड-19 लाटा ओसरल्यानंतर विद्यापीठाने रिक्त पदे भरण्यास व्यवस्थापित केले. परंतु अभ्यासक्रमांचा विस्तार होत असल्याने प्राध्यापकांच्या रिक्त जागा पुन्हा वाढल्या आहेत.
4. मागील भरती प्रक्रियेदरम्यान, गोवा विद्यापीठाने काही प्राध्यापकांच्या पदांसाठी अधिवासाची आवश्यकता वगळण्याचा प्रयत्न केल्याने अनेक गटांनी विरोध केला होता. मात्र अधिवासात सवलत राज्य सरकारने दिली आहे.
