Only TET Pass Teacher Allowed
The state government on Monday issued an order to remove ‘more than 1200’ disqualified teachers from schools across the state in the last five years, though the Teacher Eligibility Test ‘(TET) did not qualify for compulsion. Due to this, despite the passing of the TET, almost 70,000 teachers who are sitting at home without a job will face the burden of disqualifying the salary of the disqualified teachers in the government.
.
The order was sent by Swapnil Kapadnis, Under Secretary to the School Education Department, to the Director of Education. Accordingly, non-TET teachers have been asked to submit an urgent report to the government by taking action in accordance with the government’s decision dated 5 August 2018.
Central government reverses request for extension of TET qualification by next September, However, the state government has issued this fresh order after the Lokmat news release on November 20 that the state government is taken steps to remove these ineligible teachers from their jobs.
Under the Right to Education Act, TET is a mandatory requirement for the appointment of primary teachers. In addition to the compulsory, from the year 2013, there were no qualified teachers appointed in the State. The deadline for passing the TET exam was to end on March 7 this year. Keeping this in mind, the state government on 24 August 2018 removed GR for termination of services of non-TET teachers during this period. He also assured the High Court and promised that action would be taken against those who approve illegal assignments. However, on May 6, the state government requested the Center to extend the deadline.
