स्टाफ सिलेक्शन कमिशन (एसएससी) मल्टि टास्किंग (नॉन टेक्निकल) पदांसाठी प्रथमच मराठीसह तेरा प्रादेशिक भाषांतून परीक्षा घेणार आहे. उर्दू, तामिळ, मल्याळम, तेलुगू, कन्नड, आसामी, बंगाली, गुजराती, कोकणी, मणिपुरी, ओडिया, पंजाबी या भाषांतूनही परीक्षार्थीना उत्तरपत्रिका लिहिता येतील.

 केंद्रीय कार्मिक खात्याचे राज्यमंत्री जितेंद्र सिंह यांनी सांगितले की, केवळ एखादी भाषा येत नसल्याने कोणालाही नोकरी मिळण्यात अडथळे येऊ नयेत, असा पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांचा विचार आहे. त्यामुळे इंग्रजी, हिंदी तसेच १३ प्रादेशिक भाषांमध्ये स्टाफ सिलेक्शन कमिशनची परीक्षा घेण्याचा निर्णय केंद्र सरकारने घेतला आहे.

येत्या काळात परीक्षा २२ भाषांत घेणार

केंद्रीय राज्यमंत्री जितेंद्र सिंह म्हणाले की, कनिष्ठ पदांसाठी स्टाफ सिलेक्शन कमिशनच्या परीक्षा हिंदी, इंग्रजी या भाषा व मराठीसह १३ प्रादेशिक भाषांमध्ये घेतल्या जातील. राज्यघटनेच्या आठव्या अनुसूचीमध्ये समाविष्ट करण्यात आलेल्या २२ भाषांमध्ये आगामी काळात ही परीक्षा घेण्यात यावी, अशी शिफारस या मुद्द्याच्या अभ्यासासाठी नेमलेल्या समितीने केली होती. त्या शिफारसीचा केंद्र सरकारने स्वीकार केला आहे.

स्टाफ सिलेक्शन कमिशनची परीक्षा प्रादेशिक भाषांमध्ये घेण्यात यावी, अशी मागणी मुख्यत्वे दक्षिण भारतातून करण्यात येत होती. त्याचा विचार करून केंद्रीय कार्मिक व प्रशिक्षण खात्याने हा निर्णय घेतला आहे. प्रादेशिक भाषांतून या परीक्षा घेता येतील का, यावर विचार करण्यासाठी तज्ज्ञांची एक समितीही नेमण्यात आली होती. तिने आपला अहवाल केंद्र सरकारला सादर केला.
